Michael Hassetts’ passion for baking developed during his time working across Europe, as a trained chef in the early 80s. On returning to Ireland, Michael started his own bakery based in Douglas, Cork in 1984. This was a small wholesale bakery producing confectionery with a strong continental influence for the retail sector. Encouraged by the market uptake, he went on to open his first shop in 1988 producing quality products using only the best of fine local ingredients. In 1995, Michael expanded into the nearby town of Carrigaline. 34 years later, Hassetts now offer a wide range of products including artisan breads and confectionery!
